The same equipment used in pharma R&D, food safety testing and computational biology research — available to students from Semester 1, not just in final year.
CRISPR gene editing suite, PCR and gel electrophoresis, cell culture facility, bioreactor systems and fermentation units. Supported by the Biocon industry partnership for live project access.
Biotechnology · Ph.D.GPU-enabled computing nodes with BLAST, PyMOL, Biopython and RDKit pre-installed. Genomic sequence databases, protein structure libraries and AI/ML frameworks for biological data analysis.
Bioinformatics · M.Tech · Ph.D.FSSAI-compliant food processing equipment including pasteurisation units, spray dryers, packaging lines and quality testing instruments. Bikano partnership provides real industry project briefs.
Food TechnologyDiagnostic kits R&D, immunology assay laboratory, ELISA and flow cytometry equipment. Supports the Medical Biotechnology specialisation in B.Tech Bioinformatics.
Bioinformatics · BiotechnologyDedicated dairy technology testing facility covering milk analysis, dairy product development, shelf-life testing and FSSAI quality protocols — aligned to the Dairy Science specialisation.
Food TechnologyFaculty with doctoral qualifications from IITs, NITs and international institutions. Active research in drug-target interaction, microbial genomics, nutraceutical formulation and computational proteomics.
All ProgrammesPharma, HealthTech, food safety, genomics, research and regulatory — a wide placement landscape across all three undergraduate programmes and the postgraduate pathways.
Drug discovery pipelines, vaccine development and biopharma research roles across India's leading pharma companies.
Medical representative, clinical research associate, regulatory affairs and quality assurance roles in pharma and healthcare systems.
Genome sequencing, diagnostic kit development, NGS data analysis and precision medicine roles in India's growing genomics sector.
QC/QA roles in FMCG, food testing labs, dairy companies and regulatory bodies including FSSAI and CFTRI.
Diagnostics R&D, biomarker discovery, immunology research and medical devices development aligned to the bioinformatics specialisation.
HealthTech data scientist, clinical bioinformatics analyst and computational biology researcher roles across India and globally.
Four structural advantages that make an IILM Biotechnology degree different from a generic B.Sc. or a basic B.Tech at a non-specialised college.
Machine learning and computational biology modules from Semester 1 — embedded in every programme, not optional electives.
Four-year B.Tech with Honours and Honours-with-Research pathways, multiple-exit options and built-in minor flexibility.
CRISPR suite, bioinformatics compute cluster, food processing pilot plant — same equipment used in actual industry, from Year 1.
Biocon for Biotech/Bioinformatics. Bikano for Food Technology. Live project briefs, not hypothetical case studies.
Pharma, food, diagnostics, HealthTech and research — sector-specific placement, not generic IT services.
Applications for the 2026 batch are open. Merit and entrance-based scholarships available for PCB students.
Fill the form in 5 minutes and upload your Class 12 marksheet. No campus visit needed.
Our team calls back within 24 hours — programme fit, specialisation choice, fees, scholarships.
Qualify via JEE Main, CUET, or the IILM Entrance Test (IILMEEE) — sit from home, no travel.
Pay the admission fee, upload documents and join orientation. Campus opens August 2026.
Class 12 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) — or PCB with Mathematics. Minimum 50% aggregate (45% for reserved categories). JEE Main, CUET or IILMEEE score required. All three B.Tech programmes are open to both PCB and PCM students.
Biotechnology is more wet-lab and experimental — you engineer biological systems to develop medicines, vaccines and sustainable materials. Bioinformatics uses computational tools (Python, ML, AI) to analyse biological data — genome sequences, protein structures, clinical datasets. If you're stronger in biology and hands-on lab work, choose Biotechnology. If you prefer coding and data, choose Bioinformatics. Your admissions counsellor will help you choose on the callback.
Yes. IILM offers M.Tech Biotechnology and M.Tech Bioinformatics for graduates with B.Tech, B.Sc. or equivalent qualifications. GATE qualification is preferred and may open scholarship options. Both programmes are 2-year full-time with a research thesis component in Year 2.
Yes — merit scholarships from 30% up to 100% tuition waiver for top JEE / CUET / board scorers. Students with ≥85% in Class 12 (PCB) automatically qualify for a 30% tuition waiver.
