BBA VenturX is India's first undergraduate degree built around a system of real mentors, real capital, a Makers' Space, and a Japan-India corridor — so you actually build a venture.
Cohort capped at 100. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis — apply early.
BBA VenturX bridges India's strengths in frugal innovation with Japan's precision and quality, through IILM's partnership with Beyond Next Ventures Inc.
IILM's partnership with Beyond Next Ventures Inc. will unlock the following for those undertaking BBA VenturX:
Beyond Next Ventures is one of Japan's leading deeptech venture firms — the team behind BRAVE, Japan's largest deep-tech accelerator, with over $300M in financing enabled across 90+ portfolio companies.
"As an entrepreneur, your biggest asset is the ability to build, fail, and iterate rapidly. BBA VenturX gives students the exact ecosystem—capital, maker spaces, and cross-border networks—that usually takes founders years to unlock. I am incredibly excited to partner with IILM to help these young founders go from idea to global impact."
The structure and journey of the BBA VenturX degree are based on the following philosophies and expectations:
Leads with venture creation milestones every semester, built on strong foundations.
Access to build and test across different levels of technology validation.
Multiple opportunities to benchmark your venture against peers within IILM, across India, and in Japan.
Build and graduate with a unicorn-potential company in sectors critical to India's future.

Every semester has a deliverable. Every year builds on the last. By Year 4, you graduate with a company, not just a degree.
A validated problem that real customers are willing to pay to solve, and a first working prototype of the solution.
A venture with early customer feedback, initial traction, and a go-to-market plan (a repeatable and scalable early sales pipeline).
Early-stage venture that has initial paying customers and initial funding.
Graduate with a company or choose one of the other graduation pathways.
For those who graduate with a company ready to grow. The strongest capstone teams get a merit-based pathway to pitch the IILM Venture Creation Fund for live investment.
Use your learning and skills you gain to help take your family business to the next level as a future generation promoter. Enable competitive advantages and diversification that can help your family business thrive for generations to come.
Work at an early-stage startup, join a VC firm as an analyst, or plug into a venture studio. You will leave with the language, network, and credibility to operate in high-growth environments from day one.
Some of the most valuable founders never start their own company. Innovation leads, strategy consultants, and product managers at large enterprises increasingly need the exact skills this degree builds — the ability to identify problems, move fast, and build under uncertainty.
Enabled by top-tier faculty and mentors across the years.
To build and improve prototypes, scale and validate technology. Focused on semiconductors, defence tech, clean energy, health, and robotics — India's priority sectors, backed by Silicon Valley veterans.
To get initial funding and access to investors and corporates. A venture studio with shared services, stage-gate discipline, and a direct capital pathway.
Cross-campus multi-disciplinary avenues for ideathons, hackathons, workshops, and specialized credits.
Enabled by collaborations with leading startups and corporates.
Opportunities for exchange with leading entrepreneurship-focused international and Indian universities.

Cohort size is capped at 100. The process is designed to find founder-mindset, not academic perfection.
Complete the BBA VenturX application. Along with standard academic details, you will be asked to share one problem you've noticed in the world around you and what you've done — or thought about doing — about it. There are no right answers. We are looking for how you think.
Shortlisted candidates are invited for a structured interview evaluated jointly by IILM faculty and the Beyond Next Ventures Inc. team. We are not testing your business knowledge — we are assessing founder-mindset: how you identify problems, how you respond to ambiguity, and what you've already tried to build or create, however small.
Successful candidates receive an admission offer. Cohort size is capped at 100. Once confirmed, you are onboarded into the BBA VenturX ecosystem before the semester begins, including an introduction to your Startup Lab framework and the Foundry One space.
You don't need a prior startup idea. You don't need a coding background. You need drive, curiosity, and the willingness to commit to building something real over four years.
BBA VenturX gives you the Maker's Space, the mentors, the fund, and the Japan corridor. What you bring is the ambition.
IILM is a recognised university backed by 30+ years of academic excellence. BBA VenturX adds something new — a venture-first track backed by Beyond Next Ventures, one of Japan's leading deeptech VC firms.
Your child won't just get a degree. They'll graduate with the skills, network, and — for the strongest cohort members — a funded company.
100 seats. Merit-based. India's first undergraduate degree where you graduate with a company.
